Sour Diesel Marijuana Strain Review

The “Legendary” Sour Diesel.

The Sour Diesel is easily one of the more popular and familiar strains for many cannabis users. You can find it in the U.S. from the east to west coasts, and all the way from Alaska to Hawaii. Due to it’s almost legendary status you’ll have a hard time walking into almost any dispensary and leaving without seeing some form of a Diesel strain on offering.

The Sour Diesel is classified as a sativa and it appeared in the early 90’s. Legend has it that it may have originated from the cannabis breeder Chem Dog. It is thought to be a mix from Chemdawg, Northern Lights, and an unknown Skunk strain.

Distinguished by its pale to lime green color and dark sugar leaves, you’ll notice the buds colors range from green faded peach to reddish oranges. It also has a noticeable and distinct aroma, reminiscent of faint gasoline fumes mixed with a bitter sweetness.

Growing the Sour Diesel produces less than it’s cousin the Diesel but it is much more flavorful and has a stronger fragrance, making it more desirable. It is best suited to be grown indoor.

“Sour D”, as it’s affectionately known, isn’t a knock out punch strength wise and as such isn’t the best choice for heavy pain relief, having said that it is still potent, and normally it just takes a few hits to feel its effects. Generally a top choice among medical patients to help relive stress, pain, and depression . You can smoke a bit and still have a head on your shoulders for getting things done which is very much appreciated.

STRAIN SUMMARYThe Sour Diesel is good looking strain with an aromatic head and a great flavor. It is best grown indoor, and as it tends to grow taller we recommend using a sea of green or scrog technique. Yields can be less than with other strains although the taste and desirability can make up for that.4 OVERALL SCORE
